Most spots in the area received 3-6 inches of snow but a few areas saw more widespread 5 to 6 inch amounts including parts of Osage, Franklin, Anderson into Douglas Counties.

A wet snow fell over much of northeast Kansas beginning around 6pm Friday January 11th and ending by early morning on Saturday January 12th. The heavy moisture content of the snow weighed down tree limbs and did cause tree limb damage across parts of Osage, Franklin, Anderson and Douglas Counties.

Reports from COOP, public and spotters indicated that much of Anderson County received 5-7 inches of snow with the heaviest across the northeast half of the county.
Reports from COOP, public and spotters indicated that much of Franklin County received 5-7 inches of snow. Reports from EM also indicated minor tree limb damage due to the weight of the snow on trees. There was little wind associated with the snowfall so high water content or heavy weight of snow accumulated on tree limbs and did cause some to break.

There was little wind associated with the snowfall so high water content or heavy weight of snow accumulated on tree limbs and did cause some to break.
