As a cold front approached the region, surface winds increased significantly in advance of the front on Tuesday the 14th, and then continued very gusty behind the front into the early morning hours of Wednesday the 15th. A large number of trees were blown down in association with these winds. Showers and storms developed in advance of the front and also occurred coincident to the passage of the front. Trees were blown down in association with a few of the storms increasing to severe levels.
