Deaths and injuries are direct and indirect together, as the offices filed them. Damage is property and crops in the dollars of the year, not adjusted for inflation, and only where an office estimated it.

Strong shear developed during the day |across the region...resulting in thunderstorms producing large hail and damaging thunderstorm wind gusts.

JDThe Shreveport radar (KSHV), 115 km away, was scanning. The volume nearest the first event began at 11:37 UTC.
4 thunderstorm wind, 3 hail, 1 lightning. Local standard time, as filed.
Numerous trees were blown down and snapped off. Three homes suffered minor to moderate damage from fallen trees.
Strong thunderstorm winds downed a few trees in town...one of which fell across a home and another which fell on top of a vehicle. Power lines were also cut leaving some residents without power.
A measured wind gust of 64 mph was recorded at the Monroe Regional Airport. Some trees and power lines were downed as a result of this wind gust. In addition...a roof was blown off a warehouse in town.
A 101 year old man was killed when a lightning strike ignited a fire at his mobile home in southern Caddo Parish. Lightning hit a tree by the resident which ran down the trunk and hit part of the trailer where his bedroom was located. The fire occurred on Moon Beam Road which is off La. Hwy. 169.
Hail covered the ground.
Hail was reported at Northwood High School.
A few trees were downed along with some power lines.
Hail reported at Airline Drive a few miles north of I-220.
