A low pressure system in the upper atmosphere over the southwestern states moved east across the northern half of the Texas panhandle and combined with a cold and moist air mass to produce heavy snow. four inches in Dumas and also in Gruver.

A low pressure system in the upper atmosphere over the southwestern states moved east across the northern half of the Texas panhandle and combined with a cold and moist air mass to produce heavy snow. Snowfall amounts included six to eight inches in Dalhart both in Dallam and Hartley counties...five inches in Stratford...four inches in Dumas and also in Gruver.
