Snow began about 7 AM on 22nd, changed to freezing rain and sleet around noon or so. By 3 PM, the ice was one quarter inch thick.
Deaths and injuries are direct and indirect together, as the offices filed them. Damage is property and crops in the dollars of the year, not adjusted for inflation, and only where an office estimated it.

Snow began about 7 AM on 22nd, changed to freezing rain and sleet around noon or so. By 3 PM, the ice was one quarter inch thick. Precipitation changed back to snow for a time, and by 4 AM on 23rd, Oakland reported 7 inches of snow and ice.
