FOR TEMPORARY CLEARING/HEATING OVER FAR ERN OK/NW AR INTO THE LATE
MORNING OR EARLY AFTERNOON. THIS WILL ALLOW FOR SOME
DESTABILIZATION...WITH THE 06Z MESOETA SHOWING SBCAPES AROUND 300
J/KG OVER PARTS OF NW AR BY THIS AFTERNOON. THUNDERSTORMS MAY

...SLIGHT CHANCE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS
PARTS OF NORTHWEST ARKANSAS...

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS OVER FAR EASTERN OKLAHOMA AND NORTHWEST
ARKANSAS WILL CONTINUE TO WEAKEN THIS MORNING AND ARE NOT EXPECTED
TO BE SEVERE.

THUNDERSTORMS MAY REDEVELOP ALONG THE DRYLINE THIS AFTERNOON OVER
PARTS OF NORTHWEST ARKANSAS. A FEW OF THESE STORMS WILL BE CAPABLE
OF PRODUCING SEVERE HAIL AND WIND...ESPECIALLY ACROSS PORTIONS OF
CARROLL AND MADISON COUNTIES. THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT IS NOT
EXPECTED TO LAST LONG...AS THUNDERSTORMS WILL QUICKLY MOVE OFF TO
THE EAST ONCE THEY FORM.

RESULT IN A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE AREA LATE THURSDAY
NIGHT INTO FRIDAY MORNING.

Strong non-thunderstorm winds blew across Washington county from mid morning to the early in the afternoon on the 16th. Average wind speeds at Drake Field near Fayettevile approached 40 miles an hour while wind gusts exceeded 50 miles an hour at times. These high winds produced siginificant damage.In Lincoln, the wind blew parts of the roofs off a hair salon, a flower shop and a branch of the state revenue office. In Fayetteville, part of the roof was blown off a jewelry shop.
