AFTERNOON. MODELS A BIT OVERDONE ON THE STRENGTH OF THE UPPER LEVEL
JET...BASICALLY A STRUGGLE TO FIND ANY 70 KT READINGS ON THE 12Z UA
ANALYSIS AT 250 MB (WHICH IS WEAK ANYWAY). SAME GOES FOR 500 MB.
WAVE SHOWS UP WELL ON WATER VAPOR IMAGERY OVER SOUTHERN MANITOBA...
BUT LOOKS MUCH WEAKER THAN PROGGED YESTERDAY. NEW ETA STILL HOLDS
TOUGH WITH BLOSSOMING CAPE THIS AFTERNOON...SHOWING A >1600 J/KG
BULLSEYE OVER THE NORTHERN VALLEY AT 18Z. TEMPS COOL AT 500 MB THIS
AFTERNOON...BUT -20 C LINE BARELY REACHES THE CANADIAN BORDER BY 00Z
SAT. EVEN SO WILL BE PLENTY UNSTABLE ALOFT. LIMITING FACTORS ARE
WEAK LOW LEVEL FORCING AND MOISTURE. SFC DEW POINTS ONLY IN THE LOW
TO MID 50S AND VERY DRY AT 850/700 MB. CYWG DID GET A WEAK SHOWER AS
THE FRONT PASSED THIS MORNING AND KMVX 88D SHOWING A FEW MID LEVEL
ECHOES OVER THE NORTHERN VALLEY. NO CONFIRMATION ANYTHING REACHING
THE GROUND YET. MODEL SOUNDINGS ARE ALMOST INVERTED V...SO MAY GET
SOME DOWNBURST WINDS IF ANYTHING DOES TAKE OFF. ALL SAID...LOOKS
FAIRLY WEAK AND NO REASON TO YANK LOW PCPN MENTION FROM INHERITED
ZONES. NO MAJOR CHANGES PLANNED.
