What happened

The episode as NWS LBF wrote it up.

A vigorous upper level low pressure system moved out of Colorado and across western Nebraska. Rain changed to snow quickly across the eastern portion of the Nebraska Panhandle and into portions of western and north central Nebraska allowing significant snowfall accumulations. One location in southern Cherry County reported 12 inches of snow. Over the rest of the area, wind gusts to 35 mph combined with 5 to 7 inches of snow to create low visibilities with blowing and drifting snow. Four to five foot snow drifts blocked U.S. Highway 30 in Deuel County of the southeast Nebraska Panhandle.
