Thunderstorms moved through southern Jewell and eastern Mitchell counties of north-central Kansas during the late afternoon hours. These storms brought strong winds and some small hail to this area. Winds over 60 mph caused damage in Jewell Kansas where some power lines were downed and trees uprooted. The scoreboard at the football field was severely damaged. Some dime size hail was also reported to accompany the strong winds. Some tree limbs were also downed east of Beloit as the storms passed in that area.
