THIS SYSTEM WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR A THREAT OF SNOW THROUGH WEDNESDAY. A WEAKER STORM SYSTEM COULD BRING SOME MORE SNOW INTO THE REGION THURSDAY THROUGH SATURDAY. SHORT TERM...UPPER LEVEL LOW CENTERED OVER CAPE MENDOCINO CALIFORNIA THIS EVENING. A COLD FRONT IS PUSHING OUT AHEAD OF THE UPPER LOW. 03Z SURFACE HAND ANALYSIS SHOWS THE FRONT JUST WEST OF BATTLE MOUNTAIN...AUSTIN...AND TONOPAH. FRONT WENT THROUGH BISHOP AROUND 00Z WITH HEAVY SNOW. FRONT IS GETTING MORE DIFFICULT TO FIND AS IT CONTINUES ITS EASTWARD MOVEMENT. HOWEVER...WIND SHIFTS ARE OUR FRIEND. PRECIPITATION ASSOCIATED WITH THE FRONT OVER OUR CWA IS RATHER LIGHT...HOWEVER...AN INCH OR TWO IS POSSIBLE WITH THE SLOW MOVING FRONT. SNOW HAS TURNED SHOWERY BEHIND THE FRONT IN HUMBOLDT COUNTY. UPPER LOW HAS NO INCENTIVE TO MOVE EAST TOMORROW AS THERE IS NO KICKER UPSTREAM. 00Z MODELS BACK OFF ON DYNAMICS AND PRECIPITATION OVER OUR CWA AS LOW DEVELOPS A FEW CLOSED CONTOURS. STILL ENOUGH JET DYNAMICS AND MOISTURE FOR OUR SOUTHERN ZONES TO RECEIVE DECENT SNOWFALL...BUT IT IS LOOKING QUITE ANEMIC FOR THE NORTH.
