High water from February rainfall continued along southern parts of the Wabash through early March. Terre Haute crested at 17.48 feet (3.48 feet above flood stage) on March 1. Hutsonville crested at 19.4 feet (3.4 feet above flood stage) on March 3, while Riverton crested at 17.68 feet (2.68 feet above flood stage) on March 3. Agricultural bottomland and some county roads were effected.

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE INDIANAPOLIS IN 225 PM EST WED FEB 28 2001 WEATHER SHOULD REMAIN DRY THROUGH THE WEEKEND. SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE WILL BE OVER THE FORECAST AREA THROUGH THE WEEKEND. GENERALLY JUST SOME HIGH LEVEL CLOUDINESS THE NEXT TWO DAYS. THE HIGH PRESSURE WAS OVER THE PLAINS STATES THIS AFTERNOON. A LARGE UPPER LOW WAS OVER EAST CANADA. SOME CIRRUS CLOUDS WERE MOVING ACROSS SOUTH INDIANA. ANOTHER AREA OF CLOUDS WAS OVER THE UPPER GREAT LAKES. SATELLITE WOULD INDICATE CIRRUS CLOUDS OVER THE SOUTH PART OF THE FORECAST AREA THIS EVENING. SOME CIRRUS OR MIDDLE LEVEL CLOUDS WILL CLIP THE NORTH PART OF THE AREA. MODELS SHOW THE UPPER LOW REMAINING OVER EAST CANADA. A SPLIT UPPER FLOW DEVELOPS OVER THE MIDDLE OF THE NATION. PRECIPITATION WILL BE MAINLY CONFINED TO THE GULF COAST STATES NEAR A STATIONARY FRONT. CIRRUS CLOUDS MAY CLEAR LATER TONIGHT...BUT SHOULD RETURN TOMORROW AS SOME UPPER LEVEL RIDGING APPROACHES. SOME DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FWC AND MAV TEMPERATURES. DEW POINTS WERE QUITE LOW OVER THE AREA AND UPSTREAM THIS AFTERNOON. WILL GO WITH COLDER MAV.
