PRECIPITATION MOVING THROUGH THE FORECAST AREA IN THE SHORT TERM.

IN THE MID LEVELS...A VIGOROUS TROF WILL MOVE RAPIDLY EAST OUT OF
THE NORTHERN PLAINS AND INTO CANADA...DRAGGING AN ILL-DEFINED SFC
BOUNDARY SLOWLY THRU MOST OF THE FA BY 00Z FRI. LOW LEVEL MOISTURE
SHOULD DEPART WELL AHEAD OF THE WIND SHIFT...AND WITH THE
SIGNIFICANT JET DYNAMICS UP NORTH IN THE GREAT LAKES REGION...JUST
SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED TODAY PER SWODY1. FWC/MAV GUIDANCE HAS SHOWN A
NOTICEABLE WARMING FOR TODAYS TEMPS DUE TO CONTINUATION OF A
SOUTHWEST FETCH UNTIL THE OVERNIGHT HOURS FRI MORNING. AS THE SFC
HIGH MOVES IN ON FRI...WE MAY GET A BRIEF NORTHWEST WIND BEFORE THEY
GO LIGHT AND VARIABLE. MAIN TWEAKS TO THE FORECAST WILL BE TO WARM
THE HIGHS IN THE 1ST PERIOD AND NUDGE THEM UP IN THE EAST IN THE 2ND
PERIOD...AND ADJUST WINDS IN THE FIRST TWO PERIODS.

THE MODELS ARE QUITE SIMILAR IN THEIR DEPICTION OF THE NEXT TROF TO
DROP ACROSS THE CENTRAL PLAINS BY SAT...COOLING TEMPS DOWN ONCE
AGAIN. AVN PAINTS MINIMAL QPF OVER THE NORTH BY 18Z...BUT THE PLAN
IS TO STICK WITH THE CURRENT MOSTLY CLOUDY WORDING AT THIS TIME.
LOOKING FURTHER...A FLAT RIDGE/LARGE SFC HIGH GETS ESTABLISHED OVER
THE MS/OH RIVER VALLEYS IN THE FIRST PART OF NEXT WEEK...FOLLOWED BY
GOOD RETURN FLOW AND A CHANCE OF SHOWERS FOR WED.
