NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIAMI FL

SYNOPTIC SITUATION...UPPER LEVEL H25 OMEGA RIDGE IS BEING PINCHED AT
THE BASE BY THE ADVANCING UPPER LOW FROM THE EAST. RIDGE NOW IS
CENTERED OVER NORTH FLORIDA AT 12Z WITH THE BROAD CIRCULATION CENTER
OF THE UPPER LOW CENTERED NEAR SAN SALVADOR IN THE EASTERN BAHAMAS.

DRY AIR ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE UPPER LOW IS NOW ACROSS SOUTH
FLORIDA BUT WITH PLENTY OF LOW LEVEL MOISTURE AND INSTABILITY TODAY
WE HAVE NOT THUS FAR SEEN THE DECREASE IN DIURNAL CONVECTION THAT
MOS GUIDANCE IS SHOWING. IN FACT ITS A LOT LIKE YESTERDAY. WILL
WATCH RADAR TRENDS FOR WEST COAST CONCENTRATION IN THE AFTERNOON
WITH THIS TYPE PATTERN AND MAINTAIN CURRENT FORECAST BELOW
CLIMATOLOGICAL NORMAL...BUT NOT ZERO...POPS FOR TUESDAY.

AT MID AND LOW LEVELS THE SUBTROPICAL RIDGE REMAINS ALONG 30N. AT
H8...WITH A SOUTHEAST 20 KT WIND AT SANTO DOMINGO AND A NORTHEAST 10
KT WIND AT NASSAU...ONE COULD ALMOST IMAGINE A SURFACE TROUGH/WAVE
FROM THE SOUTHEAST BAHAMAS ACROSS WESTERN HAITI MOVING WEST. THE
MODELS HINT AT THIS FEATURE BUT ITS TOUGH TO SEE IT AT THE SURFACE
YET. THE AVN MODEL IS FASTER BY ABOUT 12 HOURS MOVING THIS WAVE TO
SOUTH FLORIDA WITH THE ASSOCIATED INCREASE IN MOISTURE. AFTER COORD
CALL WITH KEY WEST...THANKS...WILL TIME THE INCREASE IN MOISTURE
WITH THE SLOWER ETA MODEL BUT WILL TREND HIGHER POPS BEGINNING
TUESDAY NIGHT.

MARINE...AVN IS MORE AGGRESSIVE WITH THE TIMING OF THE APPROACHING
WAVE AS WELL AS WIND SPEEDS. WILL NOT GO QUITE SO HIGH AS THE AVN AT
PRESENT...BUT WILL CERTAINLY INCREASE WINDS AND SEAS BEGINNING
TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY AS THE WAVE MOVES INTO THE COASTAL
WATERS.

EXTENDED...AFTER THE WAVE MOVES THROUGH...SOMEWHAT DRIER AIR RETURNS
TO SOUTH FLORIDA THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. THE NEXT WAVE MOVES ACROSS
SOUTH FLORIDA SATURDAY...WHILE WHATS LEFT OF A FRONT ENTERS
NORTHEAST FLORIDA ON SATURDAY BEFORE DYING OUT. SO EXPECT A BIT
BELOW CLIMATOLOGICAL POPS FOR FRIDAY AND BACK TO CLIMATOLOGY OR A
LITTLE ABOVE INTO THE WEEKEND. LITTLE VARIATION IN TEMPERATURES.
