MORNING AHEAD OF A STRONG COLD FRONT OFF THE OREGON AND CA COASTS.
A SNOW ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR THE SIERRA AND NORTHEAST CA ZONES
FOR TODAY. LATEST MODELS SHOW STRONG SOUTHERLY FLOW OVER MOST OF
THE CWA AND WILL ISSUE WIND ADVISORY TODAY TO COVER THIS. THE FLOW
SHOULD BECOME EVEN STRONGER SUNDAY AS THE COLD FRONT APPROACHES AND
THE JETSTREAM MOVES OVER THE AREA. WILL BEEF UP WINDS IN THE WINTER
STORM WATCH AREAS WHICH INCLUDE LASSEN COUNTY THROUGH MONO COUNTY
FOR SUNDAY...AND ISSUE HIGH WIND WATCH FOR WESTERN NV VALLEYS EXCEPT
ZONE 4 FOR SUNDAY. GREATEST QPF IS ALONG WEST SLOPES OF SIERRA
SUNDAY BUT CERTAINLY ENOUGH DYNAMICS TO BRING HEAVY SNOW TO THE EAST
SLOPES OF THE SIERRA. HEAVY SNOW FROM LASSEN COUNTY SOUTHWARD MOVES
TO LAKE TAHOE THROUGH MONO COUNTY BY LATE AFTERNOON AND WILL
PROBABLY CONTINUE OVERNIGHT IN ZONES 2/72/73. WILL EXTEND WINTER
STORM WATCH THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT THOSE ZONES. SNOW LEVELS IN
WESTERN NV VALLEYS WILL LOWER TO AROUND 5000 FEET SUNDAY THEN FALL
