Two to 4 inches of a mixture of freezing rain, sleet and snow fell across extreme northwest Oklahoma from early morning through mid-evening of the 16th, with the highest totals confined to areas mainly north of a line from Shattuck extending northeast to Woodward and Alva. Lesser amounts, averaging between 1 and 2 inches, fell in an area from west central and southwest Oklahoma, near Hollis and Mangum, northeast to near Watonga and Medford. Numerous traffic accidents were reported across the region.
