A winter storm struck parts of northeast North Carolina. The storm struck a relatively small area, but the locations that had snow received impressive totals. Some specific snow totals were: Aulander 15"; Woodland, Winton and Murfreesboro 13"; Rich Square and Como 12"; Gatesville 11"; Windsor and Conway 10"; Eure and Milwaukee 9"; Edenton, Ahoskie and Moyock 8"; South Mills and Sunbury 7"; Severn 6"; and Weeksville and Seaboard 5". Local law enforcement reported numerous traffic accidents, but no injuries were recorded.
