A strong winter storm system produced a variety of severe winter weather across southwest Nebraska. The storm started as a freezing rain/drizzle event on the 10th of November. This resulted in icy roads causing numerous traffic accidents across the area. The freezing precipitation then changed over to heavy snow for portions of southwest Nebraska early on the 11th. Snowfall amounts ranged from 10 to 12 inches across Red Willow and Hitchcock counties to 3-4 inches across Dundy county. The city of McCook was especially hit hard.
