A strong winter storm system produced a variety of severe winter weather across far eastern Colorado. The storm started as a freezing rain/drizzle event on the 10th of November. This resulted in icy roads causing numerous traffic accidents across the area, including semi-tractor trailers jack-knifing along Interstate 70. The freezing precipitation then changed over to heavy snow for portions of far eastern Colorado early on the 11th. Snowfall amounts ranged from 5 to 6 inches across Yuma county to 2-3 inches across Kit Carson and Cheyenne counties.
