Dry weather and above normal temperatures continued over the area, allowing the very dry surface and soil conditions to continue also. Water levels in streams, lakes, and wetlands remained low. Several grass fires occurred, especially early in the month. Light to moderate rain during the middle of the month, and some greening of vegetation, slightly alleviated the dryness, but by the end of the month conditions had become very dry again.
