Afternoon thunderstorms over the high country of Yosemite National Park generated lightning activity. A lightning strike around 355 PM PDT in the afternoon injured 4 mountain climbers on Cathedral Peak southwest of the Tuolumne Meadows Ranger Station. One person was directly hit causing serious injury with 3 others affected and sustaining minor injuries.
