A fast moving cold frong raced east across the area taking down trees, blocking roads, and interrupting power in many locations. Much of the damage was related to strong winds with the front, although in several locations thunder was also heard. In Cambria County, a tree was down on a police car in Belsamo. An entire stand of trees were cleared south of Lewistown. A tree was down on a car in Sunbury. A couple in Springettsburg Township near York thought a tornado had crossed their backyard when all of the trees were blown down. Many counties reported damage to trees in many locations, and highway crews were out overnight removing trees and debris in each of the counties.
