Southwesterly winds gusted to over 50 knots as a strong area of low pressure passed across the area. Numerous trees and power lines were blown down by the high winds across western Pennsylvania. A wind gust to 56 knots was recorded at the Allegheny County Airport in West Mifflin, and gusts to 50 knots were recorded at both the Beaver County and Washington County Airports.
