Winds meeting high wind criteria were reported at Cape Arago, but no warning was issued for this system. This was the only station that reported high winds (Cape Blanco was out of service at this time), but a high wind warning probably should have been issued for the coastal headlands.The 10/28/99 edition of the Grants Pass Daily Courier indicated that many trees were downed in the Grants Pass area due to strong winds. No observations were available, so the magnitude of the winds are unknown. 60 MPH was listed on the episode line since it was a required field, but it is just an estimate.
