Summary of events for August 12 1999:A slow-moving cold front moving into an air mass with afternoon temperatures near 105 degrees caused widely scattered thunderstorms to develop along its length late in the afternoon through mid-evening on August 12. Due to dry air at the surface, these small storms produced locally severe winds along their paths.
The Tulsa radar (KINX), 112 km away, was scanning. The volume nearest the first event began at 22:19 UTC.

Several tree limbs were blown down in Pawnee. The Oklahoma mesonet site east-northeast of Pawnee measured a wind gust to 62 miles an hour.
In Ramona, a few trees and tree limbs were blown down. Near Jarrett Farms northwest of Vera, 12-14" diameter tree limbs were blown down, a frame fence was blown down, roof tiles were blown off a house, and a sign was blown down in front of a bed and breakfast.
Several 6-inch diameter tree limbs were blown down. Location is near the Rogers/Mayes County line.
Winds estimated near 60 miles an hour blew down numerous trees, some onto power lines. There was also some structural damage to barns.
Numerous trees were uprooted or blown down. Several trees were blown over onto power lines. Tree limbs were blown into roads. At the Washington Cemetery, grave markers were blown over and large trees were uprooted.
