A young woman was struck by lightning outside her apartment in Carrboro. Police said she was alert and conscious when she was found. She was treated at the nearby hospital and released.
Two children and three adults were injured by lightning at Camp Woodfield, a Scout camp in Tabernacle Township west of Asheboro. All were transported to the hospital , treated and released.The group was camping near a tree that got struck by lightning.
