A large 60 foot cottonwood tree was toppled by winds of 45 to 55 mph that swept into northern Albuquerque during late evening. The winds had developed as outflow moving down the Rio Grande Valley and around the north end of the Sandia mountains following strong thunderstorms that occurred over southern Santa Fe County during the early evening.
