Damaging Winds in Missouri, August 12, 1999
A fast moving severe thunderstorm downed hundreds of trees and caused other minor damage in the Hermann area. Local fire departments reported trees and power lines down in some cases blocking streets and roads.

A fast moving severe thunderstorm downed hundreds of trees and caused other minor damage in the Hermann area. Local fire departments reported trees and power lines down in some cases blocking streets and roads. Highways 19 and 100 were both blocked for a time due to downed trees. In the Dry Hill area just south of Hermann, several large trees were uprooted and billboards along Highway 19 were downed. A couple of small fires at homes were started by downed electric lines.
