Strong, gusty, south winds developed across western and southern Maine on the east side of an intensifying low pressure system as it moved northeast from the Great Lakes into Canada. The wind downed trees and limbs onto power lines causing scattered power outages. Approximately 8000 customers were affected by the outages. Peak wind gusts were 40 mph (measured) at Augusta and Brunswick, and 39 mph (measured) at Portland.
