High Wind in Georgia, November 2, 1999
Strong low pressure moved northeast through the Tennessee River Valley early on the 2nd. Very strong southwest winds associated with this storm resulted in a migratory high wind event, perhaps a mixed convective gradient wind or gravity wave, which moved through the northeast Georgia mountains.

Strong low pressure moved northeast through the Tennessee River Valley early on the 2nd. Very strong southwest winds associated with this storm resulted in a migratory high wind event, perhaps a mixed convective gradient wind or gravity wave, which moved through the northeast Georgia mountains. Numerous trees were blown down, some onto cars and houses. After the cold front passed, damaging west winds blew some trees and powerlines down in the Fairview section.
