For the second time in about a week, strong winds buffeted New Jersey. The difference in surface pressure between a deepening low pressure system over the Canadian Maritimes and a high pressure system over Illinois and Missouri produced peak wind gusts during the daylight hours of around 40 mph in most areas.

The highest wind gust at the Atlantic City International Airport was 41 mph.
