Very strong northwest winds gusting over 60 mph belted south-central Nebraska for most of the day. Sustained wind speeds from 35 to 45 mph were common all day long with gusts over 60 mph reported. Ord reported a wind gusts of 67 mph for the highest gust in the area. Aurora and Grand Island reported wind gusts to 61 and 60 mph respectively. Numerous other cities reported wind gusts to 55 mph. Fortunately, no significant damage was noted.
