An intense low pressure system over the central Plains states was responsible for strong south winds ahead of an approaching cold front. At McCutchanville, several trees were blown down by gusts unofficially measured at 60 MPH. Tree limbs were down near Princeton and New Harmony. Average peak wind gusts across the region were around 50 MPH outside of thunderstorms.
