Strong synoptic scale pressure gradients developed strong winds in the Sacramento and Northern San Joaquin Valleys. The winds caused power outages for 26,740 customers in Amador, Calaveras, and San Joaquin Counties.

Strong synoptic scale pressure gradients developed strong winds in the Sacramento and Northern San Joaquin Valleys. The winds caused power outages for 26,740 customers in Amador, Calaveras, and San Joaquin Counties. They also did widespread but minor damage to trees, roofs, and fences, with one exception. In the town of Grass Valley, a 25--foot section of a tree broke off and pierced the roof of a house. Miraculously, no one was injured.
