Excessive rain of four to eight inches fell during the overnight and early morning hours over southeast Perkins and northern Ziebach counties; as a result, numerous creeks and the Moreau river overflowed their banks. Sections of Highway 73 and other secondary roads had be closed temporarily due to water flowing over them.
