Strong winds downed numerous trees and power lines. A strong wind gust tore the roof off a gymnasium and tossed it 100 yards to the east. Strong winds also toppled a wind mill onto the roof of a nearby house and destroyed two small storage sheds at a baseball field. Gold ball to baseball size hail accompanying the winds covered the ground up to 6 inches deep in spots. The wind blown hail shattered numerous windows on homes, including 17 windows on one of the larger houses alone. The hail also tore holes in the garage roof of another house, dented vehicles and caused widespread damage to crops.
