A cold front moved through the Poconos around Midnight on the 27th and was accompanied by strong gusty winds. While the strongest gusts occurred in most locations within a couple of hours of the cold frontal passage, wind gusts in excess of 40 mph occurred through the early afternoon on the 27th. No serious injuries or widespread power outages were reported. The peak wind gust at the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Airport was 48 mph. It was also windy in the Lehigh Valley and the Greater Philadelphia Metropolitan Area, but the highest gusts were a little lower, mainly between 35 mph and 45 mph.
