Northwest winds that averaged 25 to 35 mph with gusts to around 50 mph caused tree limbs to fall on power lines resulting in scattered power outages: more than 2000 homes lost power in Danbury, 566 in Stamford, and 300 in New Canaan.

They developed in response to a low pressure system that intensified rapidly as it moved east of the Maine Coast and a high pressure system building toward the area.Northwest winds that averaged 25 to 35 mph with gusts to around 50 mph caused tree limbs to fall on power lines resulting in scattered power outages: more than 2000 homes lost power in Danbury, 566 in Stamford, and 300 in New Canaan.
