A thunderstorm briefly intensified to severe levels while crossing northern portions of the county. This late evening event contained strong winds which toppled a few trees in the town of Camden. Also, several power lines were blown down and vivid cloud to ground lightning struck a major transformer. These factors combined to cause several major power outages in the area.
