During the afternoon of September 29, a deep low pressure system over New York State produced strong winds across parts of the Catskills. In western Ulster County winds gusted to 45 miles an hour, which resulted in downed trees and power lines. Approximately 600 customers lost power in the Town of Olive. The hardest hit communities included West Shokan, Boiceville and Krumville.
