A winter storm affected the Southern Sierra Nevada primarily over a 2-day period beginning in the early morning hours of the 26th and continuing into the 27th. Mammoth Mountain on the eastern border of Madera County already received 3-5 feet of new snow by the early morning of the 27th.
Deaths and injuries are direct and indirect together, as the offices filed them. Damage is property and crops in the dollars of the year, not adjusted for inflation, and only where an office estimated it.

A winter storm affected the Southern Sierra Nevada primarily over a 2-day period beginning in the early morning hours of the 26th and continuing into the 27th. Mammoth Mountain on the eastern border of Madera County already received 3-5 feet of new snow by the early morning of the 27th. Rainfall amounts on the west side of the mountains ranged from 2 to 3 inches at elevations between 2500 to 4000 feet...and 3 inches plus from 4000 foot up to the initial snow levels of 5000 feet. Snow levels eventually lowered to just below 4000 feet as the storm passed.
