A moderate low moved northeastward from the northwest Pacific Sunday, July 14...to 180 miles south of Shemya Monday morning. The low then began to weaken...moving into the western Bering Sea as a 1005mb center early Wednesday, July 17. The front associated with this low elongated both north and east...reaching the west coast of the state and western corner of the Alaska Peninsula early Wednesday. Wind gusts reached 47 mph at Cold Bay in advance of the front.
