Thunderstorms during the evening hours on the 15th produced two tornadoes and damaging winds.A tornado developed 2 miles east-southeast of Stewartsville at 1400 EST. The tornado traveled east-northeast about 100 yards before dissipating. The tornado destroyed a two car garage, lifted up the roof of a house, uprooted trees, broke off tree limbs, knocked down power lines and power poles, and tore shingles from roofs. A large piece of vinyl siding from the garage was found 4.5 miles away. A second tornado developed 2 miles west-northwest of Bedford at 1430 EST. The tornado sporadically touched down for about a half mile before lifting. The tornado damaged a saw mill and the roof of a house and broke off tree limbs. A metal piece from the saw mill was found 1/2 mile away.Thunderstorm winds broke off tree limbs, uprooted trees, and destroyed a barn from 9 miles southwest of Bedford City to 5 miles southwest of Bedford City and uprooted and snapped off trees, damaged the roofs of homes, and destroyed a shed in the northwestern portion of Bedford City. A home in the northwestern portion of Bedford City was significantly damaged when a large tree fell on it.
