The Emergency Manager reported the closures of South New Salem Road and West McIntosh Road likely due to flooding of the roadways from Heads Creek and the Heads Creek reservoir. Radar estimates indicate that 3 to 4 inches of rain fell quickly over the area, overwhelming the small creeks and drainage systems.

In Birch River, Powell Creek rose out of its banks and flooded several roads within the town. Along Widen-Dille Road, local residents experienced culvert damage as the bank of the adjacent creek washed away. This resulted in land and creek damage around the resident's home.

In the town of Dille, Widen-Dille Road became inundated with water, making the roadway impassable. This was the result of Strange Creek rising out of its banks, which also caused water to flow onto nearby front yards of homes. Many residents who live on the road experienced substantial flood damage, including car, camper, and equipment damage as water and debris flowed into driveways and carports. Culverts also needed to be repaired or replaced afterwards due to flooding damage. Other areas that experienced flooding issues included Flat Fork Road, Nicholas Street, Little Italy Road, and Groves Creek Road.

What this means

A best track is the record a warning agency settles on after the storm, not what it said at the time: position, maximum sustained wind and central pressure every six hours, revised against every observation that came in later. Category is the Saffir-Simpson scale, which runs from Category 1 at 64 kt to Category 5 at 137 kt and reads wind only, so it says nothing about surge or rain. Accumulated cyclone energy adds up the square of the wind through the storm's life, so it counts strength and duration together.
