777, Shulu and Ningjin, Hebei Province, 37.8 N, 115.2 E, magnitude 6, intensity VIII. Houses were destroyed. The ground opened for some 10 m long, sand and stones gushed out with water. Several hundred persons were killed. The shock also struck Zhengding and Dingxian. (reference #3939)
