December 3, 1967, 04:05:48 (Beijing local time), South of Shulu, Hebei Province, 37 deg 43 min N, 115 deg 13 min E, magnitude 5.7, intensity VII, depth 25 km.
Shulu: Nanzhiqiu, Guoxi, Mudian, Hankou and
Siquying south of the county seat suffered more.
All old houses were damaged in varying degrees,
including falling of frames, collapse of walls and
sliding of eaves. Cracks in gables were numerous.
Ornamental tiny animal heads fell from individual
gate towers in the city.
Ningjin: Baichikou and Jichangzhuang, northeast of the county at its juncture with Shulu County, suffered heavier losses. Many old houses had fallen gables and eaves. Cracks occurred in walls and at window corners in new houses. The other regions suffered less. Dust fell in houses in the county seat.
Jixian: Xiwangzhuang, Haiwangzhuang, Yauzhuang
and Menzhuang villages in the western part of the county were more affected. Cracks occurred or walls collapsed in old houses.
Xinbe: Some eaves tiles fell, gables cracked or collapsed
at the top in old houses.
Wuyi, Zaoqiang andJinxian: Dust fell in old houses.
Shocks were felt in Luancheng, Raoyang, Zhaoxian,
Shenxian, Nangong and Shenze counties.
