The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Brown County in northeastern Kansas...
  Northern Nemaha County in northeastern Kansas...

* Until 800 AM CDT.

* At 232 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms 
  producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 5 and 8 
  inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 
  inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already 
  occurring.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Law enforcement reported. Brown County Sheriff
           reported numerous roads closed and that Roy's creek is
           out of its banks. There have been evacuations and
           water rescues already.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Hiawatha, Sabetha, Fairview, Robinson, Morrill, Bern, Reserve, 
  Oneida and Hamlin.

This warning replaces the two warning earlier issued for Nemaha and 
Brown counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads especially 
at night when it is harder to see how deep the water is. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.
