The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of 
  Portions of Eastern Colorado
  Northwest Kansas
  West and Southwest Nebraska

* Effective this Thursday afternoon and evening from 1240 PM
  until 800 PM MDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 60 mph possible
  Isolated large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible

SUMMARY...Scattered severe thunderstorms will initiate within and
across portions of Eastern to Northeastern Colorado this afternoon.
Severe weather will continue to spread into Northwestern Kansas and
the Southwestern third of Nebraska to include the western panhandle
of the state. Large hail and damaging winds will be the primary
threat with a couple of tornadoes possible.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 95
statute miles either side of a line from 40 miles east northeast of
Alliance NE to 75 miles south southeast of Burlington CO. For a

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.

1 inch. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 50 knots. A few
