...The National Weather Service in Indianapolis IN has issued a
Flood Warning for the following rivers in Indiana...
Buck Creek, Haw Creek, Flatrock River, Youngs Creek, Clifty Creek.
.A number of creeks and the Flatrock River have gone into flood due
to excessive rainfall on Friday into Saturday. These will be
contributing to rises on the greater waterways well into the new
week in the southern half of Indiana.
Numerous rain gauge reports have been received of rainfall in excess
of three inches. Some totals were in the 5 to 8-inch range, peaking
at 7.41 inches in Spencer in Owen County and 7.42 inches in
Ellettsville in Monroe County.
Moderate flooding is in progress on Haw Creek near Clifford,
Indiana. Beware of flooding at and near these locations, including
area roads, especially at night.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 5:00 PM EDT Saturday was 13.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 12.1 feet
late tonight.
* Impact...At 13.0 feet, Significant flooding in progress along
Clifty Creek. Since 1948, Clifty Creek has crested only 3 times
above 13 feet. The last time was June 2008. Flooding likely
closes portions of CR 1150E, CR 225N and possibly Sanland Road.
Some residential property may begin to flood.

* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 11.7 feet
late tonight. It will then fall below flood stage early Monday
morning.
* Impact...At 12.0 feet, Extensive lowland flooding along Buck Creek
in southeast Marion and northwest Shelby Counties. Flooding
affects agricultural and recreational areas. Flooding may affect
some residential areas. Shelby CR 700N one quarter of a mile east
of Shelby CR 875 is flooded by more than one foot of water
especially if Sugar Creek at New Palestine is 8 feet or higher.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers and creeks
in Indiana...
Buck Creek, Haw Creek, Flatrock River, Driftwood River, Flatrock
River, East Fork White River, Clifty Creek, White River, Eel River.
.Numerous creeks and rivers have either gone into flood or are
expected to soon flood as a result of excessive rain that fell
latter Friday through Saturday morning across mainly the southern
half of Indiana. Moderate flooding may occur at Newberry, Indiana
on the White River in central Indiana Sunday evening through Tuesday
afternoon.
Numerous rain gauge reports have been received of rainfall in excess
of three inches. Some totals were in the 5 to 8-inch range, peaking
at 7.41 inches in Spencer in Owen County and 7.42 inches in
Ellettsville in Monroe County.
Beware of flooding at and near these locations, including area
roads, especially at night.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths
occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges,
dips, or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing stream,
even a small one, on foot. To escape rising water find another route
over higher ground.

Driftwood River in northern Bartholomew County on April 6, 2011.
Double Y Saddle Club area flooded. At least 6 inches of water
flowing over CR 950N to Club. Water is less than one foot away
from CR 330W just south of its intersection with Ohio Ridge Rd. CR
500N west of CR 250W is flooded blocking vehicular access to
residences near the river bank. Lowell Public Access site is open
but ramp is totally flooded. Water close to one residence at
Shelby CR 1000S and CR 900W.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers and creeks
in Indiana...Illinois...
Buck Creek, Haw Creek, Flatrock River, Youngs Creek, Driftwood
River, Flatrock River, East Fork White River, Clifty Creek,
Muscatatuck River, White River, Wabash River, Eel River.
.Numerous creeks and rivers have either gone into flood or are
expected to soon flood as a result of excessive rain that fell
latter Friday through Saturday morning across mainly the southern
half of Indiana. Moderate flooding may occur at Newberry, Indiana
on the White River in central Indiana Sunday evening through Tuesday
afternoon.
Numerous rain gauge reports have been received of rainfall in excess
of three inches. Some totals were in the 5 to 8-inch range, peaking
at 7.41 inches in Spencer in Owen County and 7.42 inches in
Ellettsville in Monroe County.
Beware of flooding at and near these locations, including area
roads, especially at night.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths
occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges,
dips, or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing stream,
even a small one, on foot. To escape rising water find another route
over higher ground.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

the White River at Petersburg.
* From Monday afternoon to Monday, June 28.
* At 9:30 PM EDT Saturday /8:30 PM CDT Saturday/ the stage was 6.0
feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage Monday
afternoon to a crest of 21.6 feet Thursday evening. It will then
fall below flood stage Monday, June 28.
* Impact...At 21.3 feet, State Road 257 south of Washington began to
flood during May 2008 after local rains of more than an inch on
very wet soils with Petersburg at 21.3 feet and rising and Shoals
at 15.5 feet and rising.
