The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southwestern Bartholomew County in central Indiana...
  Southern Brown County in south central Indiana...
  Jackson County in south central Indiana...
  Jennings County in southeastern Indiana...

* Until 1245 PM EDT.

* At 1041 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain approaching from western Indiana. These storms will 
  move back across the warned area through late morning...with up to 
  an an additional inch of rain. Flash flooding is already occurring 
  and will continue.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Columbus, Seymour, North Vernon, Brownstown, Vernon, 
  Crothersville, Jonesville, Cortland, Azalia, Waymansville, Hayden, 
  Country Squire Lakes, Freetown, Spurgeons Corner, Stone Head, 
  Paris Crossing, Kurtz, Story, Elkinsville and Norman.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are 
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded 
roads. Find an alternate route.
