...SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR JEFFERSON...NORTHEASTERN
WASHINGTON...EASTERN HANCOCK AND SOUTHWESTERN GLASCOCK COUNTIES UNTIL
515 PM EDT...

At 439 PM EDT...a strong thunderstorm was centered near Grange, or 9 
miles northwest of Louisville. Other strong storms were located in 
eastern Hancock County and Glascock County. The storms were moving 
south at 25 mph.

  HAZARD...40 to 50 mph wind...frequent cloud to ground lightning 
           and heavy rain.

  IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of 
           light...unsecured objects. Heavy rain may cause temporary 
           street flooding especially in poor drainage areas.

Louisville, Gibson, Wadley, Davisboro, Bartow, Avera, Mitchell, Edge
Hill, Edgehill, Hamburg State Park, Shoals, Downs, Grange, Stapletons
Crossroads, Moxley and Agricola.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. If you can hear
thunder...you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Motorists
should slow down and be prepared for possible loss of control due to
hydroplaning.
